When you need it

Choosing between directions, or de-risking a bet before roadmap lock.

What you'll get

A clear read on demand and preference, with a recommended direction.

How we do it

Qual interviews + focus groups, light quant where useful, with recruited participants. Typical timeline: 1–2 weeks.

Product Research

Feature Prioritisation

Find which features your users value most, before you build them.

Get an indicative price No sign-up required.

What it is

Putting your candidate features in front of real users and forcing the trade-offs, so you learn what they'd actually choose rather than what they'd nod along to.

When you need it

The roadmap is longer than the quarter, stakeholders disagree, or a feature request keeps winning on volume rather than value.

What you'll get

A ranked list of features by value to each segment, with the trade-offs users are and aren't willing to make.

How we do it

A MaxDiff or conjoint survey with your users or a recruited sample, plus short follow-up interviews on the surprises. Typical timeline: 2–3 weeks.

Customer Research

Customer Journey Research

See the whole path your customers take, and where it breaks.

Get an indicative price No sign-up required.

What it is

Mapping every step a customer takes with you, from first contact to renewal, to find the moments that build loyalty and the ones that lose people.

When you need it

Handoffs between teams are dropping customers, or nobody can say where the experience actually fails.

What you'll get

A journey map by segment with the pain points, emotions and moments that matter, ranked by impact.

How we do it

Depth interviews and diary studies with your customers, plus a review of your own journey data. Typical timeline: 3–4 weeks.

Product Research

Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)

Remove the friction that's costing you conversions.

Get an indicative price No sign-up required.

What it is

Finding and removing the friction between someone arriving and someone converting.

When you need it

Traffic is healthy but sign-ups, checkouts or demo bookings are not.

What you'll get

A ranked set of friction points, with the changes we would test first.

How we do it

Funnel analysis, session review and usability testing on the drop-off steps. Typical timeline: 2–3 weeks.

Why Obodo

How we compare with a traditional UX research agency

Being in the session is the method. A senior researcher moderates every session and owns what it means. AI only speeds up the desk research, transcription and first-pass coding.

Good to know

Questions people ask a UX research agency

What does a UX research agency actually do?

Whether you call it a UX research company, a user research agency or a consultancy, the job is the same: finding out how people really use your product and where it lets them down. At Obodo a senior researcher designs the study, moderates every session with real users and turns what happens into decisions your team can act on. Teams outsource UX research to us when they need senior researchers quickly, without hiring. The output is evidence rather than opinion: usability issues, journey maps or a ranked list of features, depending on the question.

How much does UX research cost?

Obodo's indicative prices for UX research are up to 80% less than a traditional agency's for the same scope. Answer the questions above and you will see a price for your scope in about 15 seconds, with no login. A senior researcher confirms it on a 15-minute call before anything is charged.

What's the difference between user research and UX research?

In practice, none. User research, UX research and user experience research are used interchangeably. Some teams say user research for understanding people in general, and UX research for work on a product's experience. The methods and the researchers are the same, and we do both.

Do you moderate the sessions yourselves, or is it automated?

Ourselves, always. Being in the session is the method: a senior researcher moderates every one, notices the hesitation and asks why. We never automate moderation. AI speeds up desk research, transcription and first-pass coding, and we check its output against the recordings. The researcher decides the approach and owns the interpretation.

Do you recruit the participants, or do we?

Either. We recruit participants who match your users, screened against your criteria, or we run the study with your own customers. You approve every participant before the study begins, and you can watch the sessions live.

How long does a study take?

A UX research study runs 2–3 weeks from kick-off to findings, concept testing 1–2 weeks and customer journey research 3–4 weeks. We are up and running within days of your approval, and the timeline is written into your research plan, so you know it before you commit. Every study ends with a workshop.
